I’ve written several posts on good vocal projection. One of the primary ways to have good projection is to project your voice with more force. Here’s a Quick Tip I published 5 years ago that can get you started with better projection.
Try making an “ah” sound and extend it for 5 seconds. Don’t be afraid, just say “ah” like you would for a doctor. Now imagine that sound as a blue light like a laser beam coming from your mouth. Put one hand about twelve inches in front of your mouth with the palm facing you. Now project the “ah” like a blue laser beam all the way to your palm. Use enough force for the sound to move across to your hand. You should get an idea of what good projection feels like by doing this exercise.
Use this exercise before you record to be sure you’re ready to project your voice well. Don’t begin recording until you can sense that you’re projecting the “ah” all the way to your hand. This will help you complete each sentence with the force it needs, always being sure to make the last word of the sentence as strong as the first word. This exercise will increase the credibility of your voice and give you a more commanding voice.

thanks for the tip! will keep the warm-up in mind for our next podcast.
Thanks, Kelly! A weak voice is like a white room 🙂 You need the force in our voice to show us some color…..Please let me know if you have any questions about voice I can help you with.
